T-Mobile and Three join forces in a ground breaking network share agreement and create joint venture MBNL to deliver and operate shared 3G network.
Management team and new HQ
MBNL management team is formed and the HQ moves from Elstree Tower, London to offices in Amersham, Bucks
Godiva Programme
MBNL hits major network integration milestone of 12,000 sites through Godiva programme
Orange/EE joins MBNL
Following the earlier 2009 merger with T-Mobile, Orange joins MBNL network in 2010 under Everything Everywhere (now EE) and a new phase of integration begins
4G
UK’s first 4G network launched under newly re-branded EE in 11 cities
Project Coventry
EE and Three sign new network share agreement (Project Coventry) that sets out five year plan. MBNL focus shifts from integration to management. Three launch their own 4G service in 4 cities in December
Ambitious Plans
MBNL continue to focus on the mission with ambitious plans for 2014-2016. Circa 18k RAN sites and the network now carries 75% of UK mobile data traffic
