The IT Managed Services Architecture Lead is a high-impact role at the heart of MBNL’s evolving technology landscape. You’ll take the architectural lead in shaping and transitioning our future Enterprise/OSS managed service, working with business teams, shareholders and strategic suppliers to influence how our future IT services are designed and delivered. It’s an opportunity to bring together technology, commercial thinking and strategic influence to create services that are secure, scalable, interoperable and built for the future.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week in our Central Reading office.

What you’ll be here to do;

• Shape the architecture for MBNL’s future Enterprise/OSS managed service

• Evaluate and challenge supplier proposals, designs and technology choices to ensure the right outcomes for MBNL

• Define architectural requirements, service boundaries and measurable outcomes aligned to business needs

• Translate complex business requirements into clear architectural direction and practical solutions

• Ensure solutions meet architecture, security, privacy, regulatory and operational requirements

• Present options, risks and recommendations clearly, influencing senior stakeholders and strategic suppliers

• Define architecture standards, controls and acceptance criteria throughout procurement and transition

• Influence commercial and procurement decisions by balancing technical, operational and financial considerations

• Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to improve capability, efficiency and long-term value

Who we’re looking for;

• Significant enterprise or solution architecture experience within complex technology environments

• Experience working with outsourced services, strategic suppliers or multi-supplier ecosystems

• Experience supporting major technology procurements, service definition and supplier evaluation

• Strong architecture governance, assurance and solution assessment capability

• Strong understanding of security, data privacy, integration and regulatory requirements

• Ability to cut through complexity and balance technical, commercial and operational priorities

• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence and credibility to challenge suppliers and engage senior stakeholders

• Strong understanding of modern enterprise technology architectures and managed service delivery models

• Telecommunications, mobile network or OSS/BSS experience

• Knowledge of passive infrastructure, asset management or field operations

• Experience within joint venture, regulated or infrastructure-intensive environments

• Experience supporting complex, multi-year managed service or outsourcing programmes
