The Role:

The MBNL in-house legal team provides commercially focused and efficient legal solutions together with risk management support across all the areas of MBNL requiring legal property support. This includes Lease Renewals, the NTQ (Notice to Quit) Team, Site Access and the Towers & Antennas programme.  

The purpose of the role is to provide paralegal support within the Legal Property Litigation team, reporting to the Legal Counsel (Strategic Litigation) whilst also providing support to the broader Legal Property team as required.

The successful candidate will work closely with the other paralegals in the MBNL Legal Property team to ensure effective paralegal support to the team as a whole.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Supporting the regional teams on site specific queries / activities, checking platforms and systems to establish information regarding the status of sites
  • Managing incoming post, triaging and ensuring that urgent and non-urgent post is routed to appropriate owners and logging in MBNL platforms and systems
  • Deeds management: locating and uploading Deeds as required by the Legal and Property teams and by MBNL’s property agents: devising tools and guidance to encourage self-service options where possible
  • Management of the Legal Property Team inbox to track incoming queries and ensure that these are handled and closed off in an effective manner 
  • Management of the Litigation diary reviewing court directions orders and logging key dates including trials etc
  • Archiving original documents in accordance with MBNL processes
  • Conducting new starter and refresher platform training to encourage use of platforms and systems by all users
  • Database updates as required
  • Mailshot activities when mass letter production required
  • Quarterly litigation reporting
  • Support with document signature and governance arrangements
  • Working with the Legal Operations Lead on Legal Services billing: checking information and processing invoices.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of working in one or more of the following areas: Telecommunications, Commercial or real estate litigation, in-house property legal team and/or commercial real estate 
  • Paralegal experience in a property team
  • Excellent word processing skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to handle and prioritise large workloads and to adapt and learn new skills 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well and thrive under pressure
