We are looking for a Accounting Manager (Fixed Assets) to join our busy and dynamic Finance teamThis function provides fixed asset accounting and management services to MBNL’s shareholders and the business internally to ensure accurate, timely and complete accounting for the capital expenditure.

Role Purpose 

The role will be responsible for all aspects of Fixed Asset accounting and reporting to ensure that complete and accurate information is provided to internal stakeholders and shareholders’ Fixed Asset teams. 

The incumbent will also be required to input into, and manage the delivery of, the team roadmap to continuously review, develop and implement change to improve the current End to End process to increase accuracy, improve financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant Accounting Standards (including IFRS).

The Role   

  • Calculate and Report on stock turnover 
  • Ensure effective action is taken to address slow moving items 
  • Forecast stock write off 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure: 
  • Appropriateness of project structure and system reporting dimensions for enabling effective Fixed Asset management 
  • Accurate reporting and active monitoring of Assets under Construction (AUC)  
  • Timely completion of Balance Sheet reconciliation and effective resolution of outstanding items 
  • Manage, train and develop the other team members 
  • Provide support during audit regarding queries related to Capex and Fixed Assets  
  • Provide relevant ad hoc analytical and advisory support on various projects in a timely manner 

Must Have

  • Qualified accountant with solid experience in fixed asset management and inventory accounting  
  • Advance analytical skills and expert Excel spreadsheets 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines as required 
  • Ability to adapt to continually changing environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in making recommendations and decisions 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience in leading process improvement 
  • External audit experience  
  • SAP / IFS experience
