Senior Health & Safety Manager (Implementation)
23 month fixed-term contract

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior H&S Manager to join our HSQE team in Reading.  You will be responsible for delivery and implementation of project workstreams of the Safety Improvement Programme (SIP) to achieve MBNL’s H&S Vision and Goals 2021-24. The role is critical to successful delivery of the SIP and advancing towards higher safety maturity for both MBNL/Shareholders and the wider supply chain.

Role Purpose:

  • Be the lead responsible owner for delivery of workstreams under the Safety Programme (SIP)
  • Work closely with the SIP Project Management team to ensure workstreams are delivered to time, cost and quality
  • Ensure project outputs are implemented and embedded within MBNL and its supply chain
  • Responsible for tracking benefits realisation of change projects and presenting results
  • Lead and proactively manage input from the wider MBNL HSEQ team on SIP Delivery
  • Lead MBNL engagement and collaboration with the supply chain to achieve SIP objectives
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with MBNL teams (e.g. IDS, TNS, Commercial, Legal, etc) and the supply chain to deliver SIP project workstreams effectively
  • Act as single point of contact for external partners and suppliers engaged to deliver the SIP
  • Regular monitoring and reporting of progress to Senior Management Team.
  • Contribute to development of H&S Strategy working with Head of HSEQ and Director HSEQ
  • Provide regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders and governance forums, or as directed by the Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management
  • Deputise for the Head of HSEQ as required e.g. H&S Steerco

Requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Experience of managing and delivering change project workstreams in H&S, demonstrating benefits realisation, especially in the pursuit of Zero-harm Outcomes.
  • Very strong interpersonal and relationship skills, with demonstrable success of managing relationships at senior stakeholder level as well as internal and external delivery teams.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams in delivering workstreams, without benefit of direct reporting lines
  • Delivery focused approach, whilst ensuring project change is both implemented and embedded within the business
  • Experience of presenting to senior / Board management
  • Relevant health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH
