Role Purpose:

The Transmission Planning Engineer produces the primary output from the team – a Transmission Design, using a suite of tools, with which the successful candidate will be expected to be familiar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of the Transmission Planning Engineer is to produce transmission design solutions (TNE) for sites and clusters-of-sites to the MBNL Design Guidelines, on a per site basis.

  • The Transmission Planning Engineers role utilises tools and resources to create the ‘best’ transmission solution for each site, with respect to the design requirement.

  • Where a site/cluster cannot be designed to current Design Guidelines, the Transmission Planning Engineer will be expected to produce and present an information pack

  • Support the Transmission Planning Project Managers in achieving delivery targets.

  • Attend and participate in MBNL & Shareholder workshops

  • Maintain transmission data within required tools and databases

Requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Extensive experience in a Transmission planning role

  • Familiar with: NRM, iQLink, Nemesis, ADC Build, Mapinfo.

  • Good communication skills with the abaility to present design justifications to a concessions panel

  • Diplomacy in communication skills

  • RAN planning experience
