The Role:

MBNL are looking for a Senior Transmission Engineer. Transmission Services has end to end responsibility for the design, planning, deployment, and in-life management of access Tx solutions (MW & ethernet fibre) to support MBNL’s shareholder (EE/BT and Three) mobile broadband networks.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Be a technical lead for In-Life management of Tx equipment and systems
  • Apply strong data analytical skills and insights to Tx In-Life management
  • Forecasting transmission capacity requirements and supporting the capex budgeting process
  • Ensuring MBNL has access to comprehensive regular reports and data sources on capacity and performance
  • Identifying new reporting requirements to meet business objectives
  • Ensuring the requirements for new capacity solutions and guidelines are raised with design teams and given appropriate priority
  • Ensuring transmission capacity is planned and deployed to meet requirements
  • Ensuring In-Life management is given appropriate priority in new capacity designs and guidelines and is not compromised by poor quality deployment.
  • Working with multiple data sources and different formats and inherent data quality issues
  • Modelling the forecasted capacity and budget required against background of evolving network design and mobile customer behaviours

What we are looking for:

  • Strong IT skills
  • Data Analytical skills
  • Experience with leased line & radio Ethernet/IP transmission tech/ systems
  • Telecom’s background is desirable 
  • Programming language exp for data analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Driving Licence
